    Founded in September 2021, Bilim Dil ve Kültür Derneği (BDK) is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering young people’s engagement with contemporary global challenges. Our mission is to cultivate international perspectives by implementing projects within the framework of the European Union. Additionally, we strive to inspire youth to actively participate in international initiatives, enabling them to experience the intrinsic connection between science, language, and culture.

Our Objectives:

  • Promoting European Values: Advocating for the dissemination and reinforcement of fundamental European principles.

  • Collaborative Partnerships: Supporting organizations with similar goals to enhance collective impact.

  • International Engagement: Encouraging participation in national and international training programs, cultural exchanges, and youth activities.

  • Policy Contribution: Actively engaging in European Union policymaking and collaborating with various international non-governmental organizations.

Our Focus Areas:

Local Level:

  • Promoting equal access to education and employment, with a particular emphasis on marginalized and underrepresented groups.

  • Facilitating the balanced integration of diverse ethnic communities through transnational projects, respecting linguistic and cultural diversity.

  • Encouraging intercultural dialogue, knowledge exchange, and European awareness through youth engagement.

  • Empowering young people and youth structures by fostering personal, social, and cultural development. Our initiatives emphasize civic education, youth participation,

  • intercultural learning, and a community-centered approach through non-formal education methodologies.

  • Supporting the inclusion of refugee communities and ethnic minorities in Turkey by leveraging transnational initiatives and multilingual frameworks.

International Level:

 

  • Promoting lifelong learning as a means to adapt to evolving societal and professional landscapes.

  • Engaging youth in international educational, scientific, and cultural exchange programs.

  • Facilitating intercultural dialogue through initiatives such as Erasmus+, Europe for Citizens, and Creative Europe.

  • Developing opportunities that enhance mutual understanding, intercultural learning, solidarity, civic engagement, and volunteerism.

  • Supporting transnational projects and networks that equip individuals with skills required for the evolving labor market.

  • Contributing to European Union policymaking and the activities of international non-governmental organizations.

Target Audience:

     BDK comprises a diverse community of over 400 members and supporters, including youth workers, social workers, volunteers, students, academics, and social activists. Our youth members come from various educational and socio-economic backgrounds, including individuals facing cultural, social, and geographical barriers. We primarily work with individuals aged 15 and above, extending our initiatives to adults up to 55 years old.

Our Activities

     Our organization is actively involved in a range of initiatives, including debates, campaigns, and advocacy efforts on key social issues related to human rights and civic engagement. We conduct research, publish informational materials, and collaborate with organizations, institutions, and professionals both domestically and internationally. Additionally, BDK organizes workshops, seminars, conferences, and national and international meetings that address key thematic areas aligned with our mission. We are also engaged in designing and delivering education, training, and capacity-building programs to enhance skills, knowledge, and competencies.

Dissemination Strategies:

     We leverage various communication channels to disseminate information about our local and international projects. Our outreach efforts span across social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as our official website. We actively collaborate with local youth groups, schools, municipalities, and youth centers. Depending on the nature of the project, we engage key stakeholders, including local institutions, community centers, and organizations working in relevant fields.
